- Approach each customer with a friendly greeting when they enter the store and your department. Check back periodically with customers to re-engage.
Make smart product suggestions to fit the needs/desire of the customers based on interaction.Give examples of how products work, benefits of specific products and materials. Gain this knowledge through ongoing training from in-store and online resources.
Make suggestions to add on and increase the sale.
Ask the customers for feedback on products that we currently carry or items that they would like to see in the store. Share with Managers.
Walk the floor constantly, making sure that the area is clean and organizedVacuum, clean, dust or sweep when necessary
Keep tripping hazards, boxes, tools, ladders, etc. off the sales floor
Keep personal talk to a minimum and never engage in political or other sensitive conversations with customers.
Fill in merchandise, receive shipments, maintain visual presentation, and perform other tasks as directed.
Other required duties - Maintain vigilance for suspicious activity or shoplifting and inform investigations promptly when necessary.
Cover breaks or other departments when asked and run registers when necessary.
