Tri-Montgomery
Eat, Play, Stay Montgomery
Date: October 14-16, 2022
Location: Town of Montgomery, Maybrook, Montgomery & Walden
Over the past few years Orange County and particularly the Town of Montgomery has experienced significant growth in commercial expansion. That growth, beyond the often-publicized warehouse development, has been the extraordinary demand for hotels, thirteen additional already in the planning stage, restaurants, and an accelerated demand for housing.
The latter phase is driven by the recognized quality of life, scenic natural beauty, and recreational attraction to our area. Some notable highlights of that growth and allure would be Angry Orchards, our own City Winery, LegoLand, and recently announced Dinosaur Parks. Even our own recognition as one of America’s Top 100 Safest Places to live and the upcoming Great Race selection, all point toward a growing recognition and vibrant future for our village, town, and surrounding communities.
Vision:
Based on the backdrop of the description outlined above the Business Council of Greater Montgomery is working to create a local event that involves the unified support, promotion, and participation of our town and all three villages. In addition to inviting our residents, our vision is to expand our promotional reach within and beyond the county to showcase our Town/Villages and capitalize on the financial opportunities and benefits of what we have to offer. This will be an annual event.
Event Description:
The initial plan for this event would include a traditional food, music, and family fun activity venue at Benedict Park in the town. What differentiates this event from any other and establishes a new beginning for future growth is the planned Triathlon. The Triathlon would include a joint mayoral kick off for a route through the town, comprising a Cycling, Run and Kayak component traveling though all three villages and culminating with a celebratory finish line conclusion at Benedict Park.
Summary:
The Business Council of Greater Montgomery is working to ensure that we look for new opportunities to support and generate new avenues of growth for our local businesses, Backbone of our community. We strongly feel this initiative will meet and exceed that mission for all parties involved and the place we all love and call home.
