Tri-Montgomery

Eat, Play, Stay Montgomery

Date: October 14, 2023
Location: Town of Montgomery, Maybrook, Montgomery & Walden

Over the past few years Orange County and particularly the Town of Montgomery has experienced significant growth in commercial expansion. That growth, beyond the often-publicized warehouse development, has been the extraordinary demand for hotels, restaurants, and an accelerated demand for housing.

The latter phase is driven by the recognized quality of life, scenic natural beauty, and recreational attraction to our area. Some notable highlights of that growth: Angry Orchard, City Winery, and LegoLand. Even our recognition as one of America’s Top 100 Safest Places to live and Great Race selection all point toward a vibrant future for our villages, town, and surrounding communities.

Vision:

Based on the backdrop outlined above, the Business Council of Greater Montgomery is working to create a local event that involves the unified support, promotion, and participation of our town and all three villages. In addition to inviting our residents, our vision is to expand our promotional reach within and beyond the county to showcase our town/villages as the Greater Montgomery Area. The Greater Montgomery Area is not only a beautiful, historic and safe place to live, but a destination to eat, stay and play for the weekend.

Event Description:

This year’s event includes a Triathlon at Benedict Park in the town and a weekend full of featured events and specials that highlight all the Greater Montgomery Area has to offer.  What differentiates this event from any other Triathlon is a route through the business districts of all three villages and town. The route comprised by a Cycling, Run and Kayak component traveling though all three villages and culminating with a celebratory finish line at Benedict Park.

Summary:

The Business Council of Greater Montgomery is working to ensure that we look for opportunities to support and generate new avenues of growth for our local businesses, the backbone of our community. We strongly  feel this initiative will meet and exceed that mission for both the businesses and the race participants.
